About the prints
How are these prints designed?
Every airport is designed in Adobe Illustrator, built from published aviation charts, public aerodrome
data, and OpenStreetMap vectors. The geometry is real; the visual language is ours. These are not
generative AI images.
Prints that use OpenStreetMap data carry a faint copyright credit along the bottom edge. That's required by OSM's license, and we keep it small enough not to interfere with the design.

Why is my airport oriented east-up instead of north-up?
Some airport layouts fit better in an east-up orientation. We prioritize filling the print space over
keeping the print north-up. In fact, the FAA does this too on their official pilot charts. Some of our
customers want north-up no matter what, and we have that option! There's a north-up toggle right on the
product page. If in doubt, go with the original layout. Every print has a true-north arrow in the header
regardless of orientation.
Why don't your prints have taxiway and runway labels?
Our minimal series is built around clean geometry, and labels would crowd it. We're exploring a labeled
series for the future. In the meantime, if you want labels added to a specific print, our paid design
service can do it (see Can I customize my print? below).
A building near the airport isn't shown. Why?
We follow the principle aviation charts use: include what's on airport property, skip the rest. Very small
buildings are usually omitted too. They tend to clutter the design at print sizes. If a specific building
matters to you, email us. If it's on the field, we'll consider
adding it. If it's off-property, we can add it via paid design.
Why these specific sizes?
We chose a range that fits the way people actually hang art: U.S. sizes in inches and A-series sizes in
centimeters, both standard formats. Off-the-shelf frames in these sizes are easy to find anywhere, which
is by design in case you'd rather not buy a frame from us.
Custom orders and catalog
I can't believe you don't have my airport. Why?
When we launched in 2025, we started with six airports. Nearly every one of the 150+ we offer today began
as a custom request. We'd rather design what people actually want than guess. If your airport isn't here
yet,
request it as a custom order. We'll design it at no charge, and the catalog grows every time someone asks.
Can I customize my print?
Custom airport: free. If your airport isn't in our catalog yet, we'll design it for you
at no cost. Once it's designed, we can offer it to the next person who asks.
Other customizations: paid. Hangars, extra labels, aircraft icons, alternate palettes, and similar tweaks. Our rate for custom design services is $75/hour and most customizations can be done in 30 minutes to an hour. Email help@artofaltitude.com with what you're after and we'll send a quote.

Shipping and delivery
How much does shipping cost?
Orders over $50 ship free within the US. Orders under $50 ship for a flat $8. International shipping is
coming soon.
How long does shipping take?
All prints are made to order. Unframed prints typically ship within 2-4 business days; framed prints take
7-14. Our production partner works 7 days a week, but these are best estimates rather than guarantees. We
ship via USPS, UPS, and Amazon Logistics; the carrier is picked based on your delivery address.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
Not yet. Our fulfillment partner doesn't currently support it, though we hope to add it down the road. If
you're working against a date, email us and we'll do what we
can. Standard shipping times aren't guaranteed.
What if my order doesn't show up?
Our carrier captures a proof-of-delivery photo for every shipment, which we can pull and share on request.
If the photo shows the package landed at the wrong address, we'll send a replacement at no cost. If it
shows the package at your correct address, we will attempt to file a claim with the carrirer. There may be
a charge for replacing your prints depending the outcome of that claim.
If something's wrong
My print or frame arrived damaged or defective. What now?
We stand behind every order. Email us with photos of: the
packaging, the damage, the print or frame, and the shipping label on the box. The shipping label must be
clearly legible. The carrier requires it to process our claim. We'll always make it right. Everything is
made to order, so replacements take a little time.
What if I don't love my print?
We offer 30-day returns on every order. For preference-based returns, you cover return shipping and need
to reuse the original packaging. Once the print and frame are back with us in the condition we sent them,
we will refund the cost of the print and taxes minus the shipping costs paid for outbound shipping to you,
if applicable. If your order included a multi-print discount and you return part of it, the refund will be
adjusted to match the price of the remaining items once the discount no longer applies. Any pre-existing
damage must be flagged before you initiate the return, and we recommend purchasing shipping insurance.
Returns damaged in transit are evaluated case by case.
Why airports
Airports are stressful. Why would I want one on my wall?
Some people find airports stressful. Others find them the best part of the trip, from the smell of jet
fuel to the rhythm of pushbacks to the moment the gear comes up. Either way, certain airports tend to hold
meaning: the field you flew out of on your honeymoon, the one you learned to fly at, the home base you've
been at for twenty years. Every airport is unique as a fingerprint, shaped by geography, weather, and
decades of aviation history. A print on the wall is part memory, part inspiration for the next trip, and a
quiet way to let your avgeek flag fly.
